Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair

We arrive at Mumbai after 15 hours in the air and 6 hours on the ground at Honkers airport. Our plane was late and arrived at Mumbai at 2am (sic)! Thank God we have an express pass and only have to  wait 15 minutes in the queue in order to be directed to the visa queue which takes about 45 minutes to reach the front; we are fingerprinted and then meet our driver to take us to our abode, the Abode Hotel. We slip into bed by 3:30 and rise at 7:30 for a breakfast of vegetable curry.
We meet our guide Sumesh who takes us on a walking tour of the flower,

vegetable

and fish markets.

The people  in the markets are all incredibly friendly and engaging.
We tried examples of street food which were quite flavoursome.
Great samosa like treats here

The very talented dosa man

The Memsaab

Dosa geni-difficult to eat standing with no utensils
We traveled by train and were immediately offered seats, maybe a throwback to the Raj?

Following a siesta we have delish  seafood dinner at theTrishna restaurant.

The state of my gastrointestinal tract reminds me of the story of the man who jumped off the skyscraper and was heard to say as he passed each floor:"So far so good"
