Being ostentatious in Orccha
Following breakfast with views and monkeys
we meet Mr Manure
and it is off for the 6 hour road trip to Occha.
The roads continue to be challenging with "freeways" with speed humps, oncoming herds of cattle and suddenly deteriorating into goat tracks.
We stop along the way at a local beauty spot for some masala chai and to eat our packed lunch-a very mediocre version of cold toasted sandwiches.
We arrive at Occha at our luxury palace hotel which is heavily in the throes of wedding season.
We stop by the restaurant for pre-dinner drinkies and,
my have we fallen on hard times, I am forced to drink blended whisky. We order some dumplings which are curious fusion of Sino-Indian cuisine. In retrospect this may not have been a clever idea, however writing some days into the future we did manage to dodge a gastrointestinal bullet.
Later that evening we attend the Indian wedding festivities of Nikita and Sanjay, and quite a show it was with the talent equivalent to what I last saw at my children's year 3 school concert!
