Our bungalow in the jungalow
Following a fine breakfast masala dosa
we are picked up by our guide and driver and taken on a tour of downtown Orchha.
It has been our experience that when we arrive in a new place(which seems to be nearly every day) we meet a bevy of people-the local representative, the guide, the hotel representative, the hotel driver etc. It sometimes is hard to establish the roles of all these functionaries, but the job gets done.
Anyway Orccha has a very fine Hindu/Muslim fort
and a cenotaph for the local rulers.
Then it is back on the road with our new driver, Mr Israel(sic), for a 4 hour trip along the roadworks and pot-holes that pass for highways here.
We arrive at Toria which is an eco resort, which seems to mean that water pressure is low. Lunch is served and it is...........masala dosa-the day is looking up.
We have a relaxing afternoon and then dine with a bunch of affable poms.
